The Algorithm Just Told Me You All Use the Same Tool
How repackaging tools, viral libraries, and AI content generators are building an audience of people who don't matter—and why practitioners can spot you immediately.

That thread you posted this morning? The one you remixed from someone else's talk using an "inspiration library"? It has a tell. And it's not subtle.
You're not the only one who reposted that talk using SuperX last night. The X algorithm is serving them all up to me this morning, letting me know you all use the same tool. Same hook structure. Same 7-part breakdown. Same "Follow me for more" cadence. Different accounts, identical tells.
I can see you. So can everyone else who ships.
There's a thread on my timeline with 22,000 likes, 3,500 reposts, and 4.8 million views. It opens with "30 minutes. free. the person who created Claude Code." Then "watch the workshop. bookmark it." Then "worth more than every $500 course you almost bought." Then a video clip of someone presenting at an Anthropic event last May.
The thread is doing the numbers. The thread is winning.
That's the thing I want to write about. Not that this kind of content exists. Not that it's hollow. Both of those are obvious. The interesting fact is that it works. It works at a scale that punishes anyone trying to publish actual judgment, because they're competing for attention with people who've optimized every component of a post for the dopamine hit and removed every component that costs them something to write.
And now there's an entire industry of tools built to help them do it faster.
The machine behind the machine
SuperX is one of the most popular X growth tools on the market right now. Over 9,000 creators use it. It's a Chrome extension and web app that sits directly on top of your feed and gives you what it calls an "Advanced Inspiration Engine."
What does that mean in practice? It maintains a library of 10 million viral posts. It scans top-performing content in your niche daily. It surfaces the highest-engagement tweets from any public account. And it explicitly encourages you to "remix" them.
Their own marketing calls it "steal like a strategist."
That's not a bug. It's the product. The entire value proposition is: here are the ideas that already worked for someone else, now here's an AI to help you repackage them in your voice.
The tell is in what the tools optimize for. SuperX's value prop isn't "publish your judgment faster." It's "find ideas that already worked for someone else." The AI isn't infrastructure for your thinking. It's a replacement for having thoughts in the first place.
Their own marketing calls it "steal like a strategist." That's not positioning. That's confession. They're telling you exactly what you're doing, and somehow you're not embarrassed yet.
If you have nothing to say, tools like this will help you say nothing louder. You'll post more. You'll post faster. You'll look busy. And you'll be treated exactly like what you are: part of the herd. Interchangeable. Forgettable. Optimized for engagement you don't control, building an audience that isn't yours.
The practitioner's use case doesn't exist in these products. "Here are my notes from shipping, help me turn them into a post" isn't a feature. That user was never the customer.
Clipping agents operate the same model at the video layer. They watch trending content, auto-generate summaries, extract highlights, and post them as original threads. The human in the loop is optional. The human's ideas are completely absent.
This is the infrastructure the repackaging economy runs on. Tools designed from the ground up for people who have nothing original to say but need to post anyway.
The displacement paradox
Microsoft just offered voluntary buyouts to 8,700 employees. Their first in 51 years.
The math is brutal: combined age plus tenure must equal 70 or higher. Translation: expensive experience is the liability.
The narrative from leadership: "One person with AI can do what 10 people used to do."
So what do those remaining people do? They publish. They post. They prove they're adapting. LinkedIn fills with AI-generated insights. Twitter floods with "5 ways AI transformed my workflow" threads. Everyone's demonstrating value by producing more content, faster.
This is the slop spiral.
The companies cutting headcount aren't just removing people. They're removing judgment, nuance, lived experience. The exact qualities that make content not slop. And the people trying to survive the cuts are using AI to cosplay those qualities at scale.
You end up with less actual expertise in the building, more content claiming expertise, and readers who can't tell the difference anymore.
The "adapt or die" framing is everywhere right now. Learn AI. Be public about it. Show you're on the cutting edge.
But public about what?
If you're using AI to find other people's ideas and repackage them in your voice, you're not adapting. You're advertising that you have nothing to say. You're optimizing engagement metrics while your actual competitive moat erodes.
And here's the thing: the people you're trying to impress? The ones making hiring decisions, signing contracts, choosing vendors? They're practitioners. They ship. They can tell the difference between someone publishing judgment and someone cosplaying authority with a viral posts library. You think you're adapting. They think you're disposable.
The repackaging economy offers a survival strategy: post more, post faster, look busy. It's a treadmill with quarterly performance reviews at the end. And the tools selling you that treadmill are making money either way.
The pattern in the wild
Earlier this week I saw a thread repackaging a 30-minute talk by Ivan Nardini, a Google DevRel engineer, from Anthropic's "Code with Claude" event last May. The talk covers Google's agent stack: ADK, MCP, Vertex AI Agent Engine, A2A.
The repackage was 7 sections, each ending with "Follow @codewithimanshu," opening with "Cancel your weekend plans," and recommending Claude 3.7 Sonnet. Claude 3.7 Sonnet was retired on the Anthropic API on February 19, 2026. Following that recommendation today gets you an error.
The thread also called A2A "the future nobody's talking about." A2A hit v1.0 this Tuesday at Google Cloud Next 2026 and is in production at 150 enterprises. Three days before this thread told its readers it was a secret, Google announced it on the keynote stage of their flagship conference.
Same pattern. Real talk by a real practitioner. Repackager watches it at 2x speed. Hook engineered for urgency. Authority borrowed without being earned. Factual errors that anyone shipping with the stack would catch immediately. Engagement that dwarfs anything a practitioner produces.
And somewhere in that workflow, probably a SuperX inspiration library query.
The thread did numbers. 4.8 million views. And somewhere in those 4.8 million impressions was someone who actually works with this stack daily. Someone who noticed the Claude 3.7 error in the first 10 seconds. Someone who knew A2A was announced at Google's biggest conference of the year.
That person scrolled past. They didn't engage. They added you to the "ignore" list in their head. You got the views. They got the signal that you're not worth listening to.
Why practitioners can spot you immediately
The urgency hook tells us you've never shipped. "Cancel your weekend plans" is what someone says when they think watching a 30-minute talk counts as work. Practitioners don't talk like that because we've actually had weekends ruined by prod incidents.
The borrowed authority tells us you didn't earn any of your own. Attaching yourself to "the person who created Claude Code" is a signal. You're hoping their credibility transfers. It doesn't. It just highlights the gap.
The 7-part breakdown structure is the tell. Nobody who builds breaks down knowledge that way naturally. It's optimized for engagement, not understanding. We can see the template underneath.
The appearance of structure closes the deal with your target audience, but that audience isn't practitioners. It's other repackagers, growth hackers, course sellers. The people who can actually use what you're claiming to know? They've already moved on.
What it does to the reader
If you're an operator who ships, your timeline is your input. If your input is repackaged, error-laden, urgency-tuned content, your model of what's happening in the industry is wrong.
You'll reach for tools that are deprecated. You'll be surprised by things that have been public for a year. You'll absorb the implicit message that everyone is making twelve thousand dollars a month building agents while you're still trying to get your first one to deploy. None of that is real.
Worse, you'll feel slow. Not because you are slow, but because the content you're consuming is engineered to make stationary feel like falling behind. I've watched smart engineers spiral on this. Not because they're undisciplined. Because the stream is calibrated to break discipline.
The readers you're losing
Every time you post a repackaged thread, you're sorting your audience. The people who engage aren't the ones you want. They're other repackagers, growth hackers, course sellers, people playing the same game you are. The practitioners scroll past.
You'll never know when this happens. There's no notification that says "Senior Engineer at Stripe saw your thread and immediately muted you." There's no alert when a hiring manager adds you to their mental "not serious" list. The filtering is silent.
And that's the trap. You see the engagement numbers go up and think it's working. Meanwhile, the only audience you're building is people who can't tell the difference between repackaged content and original thought. You're accidentally selecting for the readers who don't matter.
Why the repackager can't win long-term
The repackager has a problem they don't talk about: they have to keep posting, forever, at the same intensity, or it ends.
Every thread starts from zero credibility. Nothing they wrote yesterday matters to the algorithm tomorrow. There's no body of work, no compounding moat, no readers who follow because of a developing perspective, because there is no perspective. There's a content schedule and a hook template. The moment they stop, the audience evaporates, because the audience was never theirs. It belonged to the algorithm.

What AI should actually do
Sales teams are figuring this out faster than content creators. The practitioners using AI effectively understand the distinction between important work and impactful work.
Important work is time-consuming but necessary: research, prep, proposal generation, data analysis, CRM updates. Impactful work is where judgment lives: discovery, relationships, closing, strategic decisions.
AI should handle the first so you can focus on the second.
LinkedIn proves the content world has it backward. AI-generated spam everywhere. Shallow personalization that reads as mechanical. DMs that feel like they were assembled, not meant.
The practitioners who win are the ones feeding AI their actual work. CRM notes, call observations, deal post-mortems, client objections they navigated, decisions they made, things they shipped and watched break.
The distinction isn't whether you use AI. It's what you're feeding it.
If you're feeding AI a viral posts library and asking it to help you repackage someone else's talk, you're using AI to fake impactful work. You're manufacturing the appearance of judgment without doing the thinking.
If you're feeding AI your notes from shipping and asking it to help you publish what you learned, you're using AI to handle important work. You're amplifying judgment you already have.
One creates slop. The other creates authority.
The right use of AI in a publishing workflow is not "find me a viral tweet to remix." It's "here are my notes, my observations, my decisions from the last two weeks. Help me turn that into something worth reading."
The input has to be yours. The judgment has to be yours. The perspective has to be yours. AI is infrastructure for amplifying what you actually think, not a replacement for thinking.
When you invert that, the output is detectable. Not by a plagiarism checker. By a reader. Readers can feel when a tweet was assembled instead of meant.
The compounding only works one way. Publishing from real experience gets better over time. The more you publish from your actual work, the clearer your perspective becomes, the more your audience knows what you stand for.
Repackaged content from a viral posts library produces more of the same thing forever. It's static. It doesn't build toward anything. You're not developing a voice. You're renting engagement.
The structural opportunity
Every AI content tool on the market right now is built for the repackager. Paste a video, get a thread. Query the viral library, get a remix. The entire stack assumes the user has nothing original to say and needs help manufacturing the appearance of authority.
That's a real market. It's also a saturated one. And the readers it captures are starting to notice.
The opposite user has been ignored. The operator who has shipped, made decisions, watched things break, has a body of work, has a perspective. They don't need help manufacturing authority because they have it. What they need is the inverse stack: a system that turns their actual lived practice into distribution without diluting what makes their voice theirs.

That the practitioners who kept posting their judgment, slowly, through the noise, will be the ones with readers in 2028.
The market for repackaged viral hooks is saturated.
The market for judgment is wide open.
Pick the harder game. Even if it grows slower. Especially if it grows slower.
